Overview

Extending a beloved brand into social impact.

Instituto Kuba is an academic branding project developed at Instituto Infnet, extending the Kuba Áudio brand into a social initiative. Kuba Áudio had built a strong community, the #kubanos, but had no social responsibility arm. The challenge was creating an institutional sub-brand that felt like a natural extension of the original identity, not a graft.

Problem

Brand analysis revealed that Kuba, despite organic community engagement, had no social initiative across its channels. The task was designing a credible institutional identity, derived from the parent brand, able to carry seriousness without losing the warmth of the original mark.

Solution

Instituto Kuba, a concept for a non-profit music school for children in underserved communities of Rio de Janeiro. The logo extends the original mark with indexical elements (heart, headphone), an earthy palette, Work Sans and Aleo typography, and a complete brandbook: versions, clear space, minimum sizes, misuse cases, and applications.
